High Grade!
The tolar was the currency of Slovenia from October 1991 until the introduction of the euro in January 2007. The definitive tolar banknotes—which were issued starting in late 1992—were brightly colored and famous for celebrating prominent historical figures in Slovenian arts, science, and politics.
The obverse depicts Rihard Jakopic, the leading Slovene Impressionist painter in his time.
The reverse displays The Sun by Jakopic and plan of the former Jakopic Pavilion, an art gallery in Ljubljana, the first purpose-built art exhibition venue in the territory of modern Slovenia.
