High Grade!
The tolar was the currency of Slovenia from October 1991 until the introduction of the euro in January 2007. The definitive tolar banknotes—which were issued starting in late 1992—were brightly colored and famous for celebrating prominent historical figures in Slovenian arts, science, and politics.
The obverse depicts Ivana Kobilca, a Slovene painter, considered the most prominent painter and a key figure of Slovene cultural identity. She was a realist painter who studied and worked in Vienna, Munich, Paris, Sarajevo, Berlin, and Ljubljana. Her greatest impact was on figural painting, especially portraits and paintings of typical people's lives in rustic or urban places.
The reverse displays the National Gallery of Slovenia and Robba fountain.
