Owner's Description

This Venezuela specimen note represents the 2000 Banco Central de Venezuela 10,000 Bolívares, cataloged by PMG as Pick #85as and certified Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ.

Printed by CMV, the note features a portrait of Antonio José de Sucre at right, with a warm orange, gold, and brown color palette. The bold 10,000 Bolívares denomination reflects Venezuela’s move into larger face-value notes at the start of the 2000s, while the modern security layout, detailed engraving, and vertical design elements give the issue strong visual appeal.

As an official specimen, this example carries the serial format A000000000 0161, a red diagonal “MUESTRA SIN VALOR” overprint, and specimen number No. 0161 printed at right. PMG also notes the watermark as A.J. de Sucre. The printed date on the face is 25 de Mayo de 2000.

The 67 EPQ grade confirms exceptional originality, premium paper quality, vivid color, and outstanding overall presentation. This is a high-grade Superb Gem specimen from an important transitional period in Venezuela’s monetary history, as the country moved toward increasingly higher denominations before later redenominations and hyperinflationary issues.

This note is a strong addition to the Planet Banknote Venezuela Specimen Collection: Bolívar to Bolívar Digital, helping document the evolution of Venezuela’s official specimen banknotes from traditional Bolívar issues into the modern high-denomination era.
