Owner's Description

This Venezuela specimen note represents the 2001 Banco Central de Venezuela 20,000 Bolívares, cataloged by PMG as Pick #86as and certified Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ.

The note features a portrait of Simón Rodríguez at right, with a modern yellow, gold, and olive-toned design. The large 20,000 Bolívares denomination reflects Venezuela’s continued movement into higher face-value notes during the early 2000s, while the issue’s refined security layout and detailed engraving mark it as an important part of the country’s modern Bolívar series.

As an official specimen, this example carries the serial format A000000000 1497, a red diagonal “MUESTRA SIN VALOR” overprint, and specimen number No. 1497 printed at right. PMG also notes the watermark as S. Rodríguez. The printed date on the face is 16 de Agosto de 2001.

The 67 EPQ grade confirms exceptional originality, premium paper quality, vivid color, and outstanding overall presentation. This example is a confirmed PMG Top Pop for the Pick #86as specimen type, placing it among the finest certified examples currently recorded by PMG.

This note is also housed with the Planet Banknote custom PMG label, making it especially fitting for the Planet Banknote Venezuela Specimen Collection: Bolívar to Bolívar Digital. As a high-grade Top Pop specimen from Venezuela’s early 2000s high-denomination era, it is an important addition to the collection and helps document the country’s monetary evolution before the later redenominations and hyperinflationary issues.
