Owner's Description

This Venezuela specimen note represents the 2007 Banco Central de Venezuela 50 Bolívares, cataloged by PMG as Pick #92as and certified Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.

Printed by CMV, this issue is part of Venezuela’s Bolívar Fuerte series, introduced after the redenomination of the older Bolívar system. The note features a vertical-style face design with Simón Rodríguez prominently displayed, along with a green, yellow, and blue color palette and modern security elements throughout the design.

As an official specimen, this example carries the serial format A000000000 1729, a red diagonal “MUESTRA SIN VALOR” overprint, and specimen marking Muestra Nr. 1729. PMG also notes the watermark as S. Rodríguez & 50. The note’s design reflects the transition from Venezuela’s older high-denomination Bolívar notes into the redesigned Bolívar Fuerte era.

The 66 EPQ grade confirms this as a Gem Uncirculated example with exceptional paper quality, strong originality, clean surfaces, and excellent overall presentation. Its place in the first Bolívar Fuerte series makes it an important transitional specimen within Venezuela’s modern monetary history.

This note is a valuable addition to the Planet Banknote Venezuela Specimen Collection: Bolívar to Bolívar Digital, documenting the shift from the traditional Bolívar system into Venezuela’s redenominated modern currency issues before the later hyperinflationary period.
