Owner's Description

This Venezuela specimen note represents the 2007 Banco Central de Venezuela 2 Bolívares, cataloged by PMG as Pick #88as and certified Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.

Printed by CMV, this note is part of Venezuela’s Bolívar Fuerte series, introduced during the country’s redenomination from the older Bolívar system. The design features Francisco de Miranda in a modern vertical-format layout, with blue, orange, and light pastel security elements that reflect the updated visual style of Venezuela’s 2007 currency redesign.

As an official specimen, this example carries the serial format A000000000 1518, a red diagonal “MUESTRA SIN VALOR” overprint, and specimen marking Muestra Nr. 1518. PMG also notes the watermark as F. de Miranda & 2. The printed date on the note is 20 de Marzo de 2007.

The 66 EPQ grade confirms this as a Gem Uncirculated example with exceptional paper quality, strong originality, clean surfaces, and attractive overall eye appeal. As the low-denomination 2 Bolívares specimen from the Bolívar Fuerte series, it plays an important role in documenting the full structure of Venezuela’s redenominated currency system.

This note is a valuable addition to the Planet Banknote Venezuela Specimen Collection: Bolívar to Bolívar Digital, helping show the transition from Venezuela’s traditional high-denomination Bolívar notes into the redesigned Bolívar Fuerte era that preceded the country’s later hyperinflationary issues.
