Owner's Description

This Venezuela specimen note represents the 2013 Banco Central de Venezuela 5 Bolívares, cataloged by PMG as Pick #89es and certified Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.

Printed by CMV, this note is part of Venezuela’s Bolívar Fuerte series and features Pedro Camejo, also known as Negro Primero, in a modern vertical-format design. The orange and gold color palette, contemporary security layout, and bold 5 Bolívares denomination reflect the updated visual identity of Venezuela’s redenominated currency system.

As an official specimen, this example carries the serial format R00000000 0997, a red diagonal “MUESTRA SIN VALOR” overprint, and specimen marking Muestra Nr. 0997. PMG also notes the watermark as P. Camejo & 5. The printed date shown on the note is 17 de Diciembre de 2013.

The 64 EPQ grade confirms this as an original Choice Uncirculated specimen with exceptional paper quality. As a lower-denomination Bolívar Fuerte specimen, this note helps complete the broader story of Venezuela’s redesigned currency system before the later inflationary pressure and additional redenominations that followed.

This note is a valuable addition to the Planet Banknote Venezuela Specimen Collection: Bolívar to Bolívar Digital, documenting the country’s transition from traditional Bolívar issues into the Bolívar Fuerte era through official PMG-certified specimen examples.
