Owner's Description

A beauty to look at....my $100 for this slot with all his other denominations. Cool eh? $100 California rare. JEWEL. PMG has graded 13 Fr. 705's. Two have been graded higher at 35 and five share this grade. The First National Bank of Los Angeles in California was chartered in September 1880 and liquidated in 1935 after printing $45,469,050 of National Currency. The bank issued 10 different types and denominations of notes. The bank issued National Bank Notes during the First Charter Period and continued until the end of the issuing period through these different titles shown. This incredibly long standing and prolific bank has appx. 1400 notes listed in Track and Price. However only 53 of those notes came from the long title name and out of that only 3 $100 bills extant. The First National Trust & Savings Bank was assumed in September 1927 and Security First National Bank on March 30, 1929.This note is rare and high grades do not exist. This note represents one of the few Plain Back's with this signature combination. There are several small, Type 1 $100 denominations from this L.A. bank. There is only ONE $100 denomination in large note varieties. It sold a decade ago for more than $800 than what I paid for it. What a rare, good deal.
