Owner's Description
These 1979 Series E banknotes formed part of the first emissions for the newly formed revolutionary Sandinista Government.
There was a total of 40 million 10 Cordoba banknotes that were authorised by 2 decrees 502 & 503 both on the 30th of August 1980.
This particularly banknote given the high serial number I would believe have been leftover banknotes that would have been stored in the Central Bank vaults.
The obverse of the banknote features Andres Castro considered a national hero holding a rock, this is a scene depicted from the battle of San Jacinto on the 14th of September 1856 when Castro was left with no ammunition so he grabbed rocks and threw them at the attacking Filibusters. The reverse of the banknote features miners and "The Nationalisation of The Mines".
