Edwardsville, IL The First NB Ch. # (M)5062 $5 1882 Value Back Fr. 573 Tillman | Morgan PMG 15 SN 7914/R938101 pp E/143 dtd. March 3, 1897. This is one of only two $5 Value Backs reported from this large-only bank that operated in a small Madison County community, which is now part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. Well circulated with some minor rust and repair work. Edwardsville is the county seat of Madison County named in honor of Ninian Edwards, then Governor of the Illinois Territory.
