Owner's Description

A few years ago I briefly got distracted from coin collecting to build a small set of silver certificates.

The silver certificates where of interest because my mother had a few old circulated examples that she showed us growing up - we even saw an old $1 gold certificate once that we found in an old suitcase full of family photos from 50+ years ago.

The idea of the currency being redeemable in and backed by gold and silver was almost as interesting to me as a child as the silver dollars themselves - the Morgans and Peace dollars I saw growing up also came originally from Grandpa.

Star notes, of course, are also a point of interest because of what they represent and I was able to pick up this star note for a good price one day. A nice little addition to my small collection. Maybe it'll grow one day.
