Owner's Description
These new 1990 1 Cordoba Oro banknotes were produced by De La Rue Co and feature on the obverse Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba, the Nicaraguan currency's namesake. He was a Spanish explorer and the founder of the cities of Leon and Granada in Nicaragua.
The reverse of the note features the National coat of arms.
This design was carried over to the Series B 1995 issue, before being replaced by coins in 1997.
I estimate that there was 30 million of these notes produced. I could only find the information from the first decree authorising the issue of 20 million notes from serial number 00000001 to 20000000.
There is two varieties of signatures for this issue. With the second variety that would have been from the second or subsequent emissions.
