Owner's Description

Auburn, NY - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 482 The National Bank of Auburn Ch. # 1350 PMG Very Fine 25.
A scarcer type and denomination from this Cayuga County bank that is one of just two $10 Brown Backs reported and easily the finer of the pair. It was last on the market in our 2005 FUN auction where it was acquired by our consignor. Also, we mentioned then that the note traced its provenance to the 1957 FUN auction held by Federal Coin Exchange of Cleveland, Ohio. It's an attractive pen-signed example which is also notable for its lack of a tombstone, providing a most unusual title layout which is rarely found on $10 Brown Backs.
