Owner's Description

There were just 76,923 $2 bills authorized in this emission. This bill has and image of Grain being Thrashed on the face with the Latin Motto, "Tribulatio Ditat" which translates as, "Affliction Improves It". This bill was signed by James Kelso and Richard Cromwell.

The CC-55's are the 4th scarcest Continental bill according to the PMG population report. PMG has graded about ten February 26, 1777, CC-55 bills with 40% receiving a grade of AU or better and 20% receiving an uncirculated grade.
