Owner's Description

The new 500 & 1000 Cordoba Polymer 2019 notes entered into circulation on the 8th of July 2019. The design carries on from the previous paper issue with new polymer security measures. This is the first time the 500 Cordoba banknote has been issued in polymer.

This note is the regular issue with the A prefix and the Replacement/Star Notes feature an R prefix that can be found in my 3rd set.

In the 2nd set there is a matching numbers to the 1000 Cordoba Polymer note, it is also a Binary note that was given the First Releases designation by PMG for being received within 30 days of issue.

The obverse of the banknote features the famous Catedral de Leon (Leon Cathedral) It is the largest Cathedral in all of Central America, it is a World Heritage Listed site by UNESCO that was built between 1747 and 1817. In the crypts below the cathedral are the remains of several prominent Nicaraguans including Miguel Larreynaga and Ruben Dario among others.

The reverse of the banknote features the Momotombo Volcano which is on the banks of the Managua Lake and located not that far from the city of Leon.
