Owner's Description

Troy, NY The N State B Ch. # 991 PMG 06 $1 1875 Fr. 383 SN 2460/A154464 pp A July 1st, 1865. A bit rough around the edges but this well circulated note is one of just two series of 1875 aces reported from this large-only Troy bank. Despite its amount of wear, it still has more than acceptable color and legible pen signatures. The wide swath of blue stained paper is still clear and distinct on the face. Willard Gay, Cashier (1865-1886 and Pres. 1887-1891) and Alfred Wotkyns, President (1865-1867). This $1 note made its last public appearance in a 2010 Stacks sale and the holder carries Q David Bowers Collection pedigree. Ex The Collar City Collection of NY Nationals.
