I love the PMG 30 EPQ grade with this quality. There are almost no folds, certainly not visible. The colors are superb for the grade. The centering is as good as it gets and corners are excellent except one which has a slight fold. I have a hard time seeing why this didn't grade 40 or above. There are a few very faint folds so that must be the reason it graded so low. Also, the note is vaguely discolored, but less so than most of these 150 year old notes. PMG has reported almost 500 of these notes and only 41 have graded higher WITH the EPQ moniker.

I really don't want to collect small notes but completing thes District sets is too much fun. When I see a note that is fetching over 1300 points for less than $400, it's a deal. For US large and small notes, getting more than 3 points per dollar is not easy. Some notes, like the large $500 or $1000 Gold Certificates, you are looking at dollar per point! A good quality 1219, rated at a VF30 goes for 30 - 40, maybe 50,000 dollars. so you are looking at 30,000 dollars or more for 3000 points, like 10 dollars per point. I would be curious if any others purchase based on score?

I believe GEM emergency notes will retain their value. They are incredible historical evidence. These notes were basically to prevent our currency and thus our entered financial system from being compromised by issuing them in North Africa during "operation Torch" when the U.S. army first met the Nazi army in North Africa. Similarly, we issued these on the island that served as our outermost outpost in the direct route of the Empire of Japan from attacking our west coast. Thus, in a hundred or so years, these notes become more important due to the fascinating history behind these emergency notes. Paid $855.
