Owner Comments
This is not your run of the mill August 8, 1778 $50. This is a very rare April 17, 1780 bill. These bills were printed with four different mottoes, all of the $50 denomination to complete the 1778 and 1779 emissions which were interrupted by the smallpox outbreaks in North Carolina in those years.
Friedberg and Newman only list three mottoes, but a 4th has been discovered and will be published shortly.
This is the only NC-190 that PMG has graded. About 6 bills from this emission are known to exist.
