I picked up this note originally to be a kind of "type note" / example piece in my small note collection, showing what the US $5 bill looked like before they started re-designing the bills in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Since I was born in the mid-1980s, this is the design they were using when I was growing up as a child. So this is the design I saw when I got a $5 bill from my grandmother for my birthday or as part of a Christmas present.
