This is a lower grade note, net for repairs. Note looks nice for the grade, and repairs appear to be well done. Not one of my favorite designs.
Acquired at Heritage auction, April 2016.

Low grade example acquired on eBay in January 2017. Graded net for repairs. Note is not a real attractive example due to wear and tear and dirt. Has some color from end roll paper, which makes it interesting.

Low grade note, but looks nice for the grade. Repaired, but repairs are well done and not detectable by my, so that's good. Acquired Heritage January 2017.

Every note needs a name. My name for this one shall be the "Dos Equis" note. For some reason (maybe it's those two X's on the front), it reminds me of those Dos Equis beer commercials with the "most interesting man in the world."
This Dos Equis note was acquired in January 2013 at the Heritage Auction.
Stay thirsty, my friends.

This note is graded 25 Net, but I have to say it is the nicest 25 I have ever seen. It looks more like a 45. I have to compliment whoever did the repairs on this note because it looks spectacular.
Acquired at the Heritage auction in September 2014 at a price well below auction estimates. Very pleased with the note.

I really like these Brown Backs. They are so different from the standard issue Green Backs. This one is special because it has the signature of the one and only J.P. Morgan (also known as Pierpont Morgan). He was recently profiled in the History Channel show "The Men Who Built America."
I acquired this note in the November 2012 Stacks/Bowers auction.

I bought this graded note on eBay in December 2013. The small town of Paulding OH, described as a village of 4,000 people, has no particular significance to me, but I thought this was a nice addition to my type note collection. The note is very attractive for the grade, and appears to be correctly graded. The note sports a low serial number and bright inks. The signatures appear to be stamped, but it is hard to tell.

This Value Back was acquired at the Heritage Auction in January 2014. The auction prices were pretty strong for large notes in general, and I got this one within the auction estimated range, but at the higher end of the range. Many notes sold above the high estimate.
It appears to be appropriately graded at Very Fine 20, with no distracting features and no mention of anything on the holder. The note was issued by the National Bank of Kentucky of Louisville.

This 1902 Red Seal was acquired at the Stacks Auction in November 2013 graded by PCGS at 25. I am very happy to report that it crossed over to PMG at Very Fine 30. I thought it looked pretty nice for a 25 and was very pleased with the upgrade.
This note is from the Mellon National Bank of Pittsburg and is signed by none other than Mr. A. W. Mellon himself, the famous banker, businessman and industrialist from the late 1800's to early 1900's who actually became Secretary of the Treasury for about 10 years.

This Plain Back $20 from Huntington West Virginia seems appropriately graded to me. It has some wear, but is a very nice looking note. Signatures appear to be stamped and are very colorful. Treasury seal also shows good color. A tight top margin on the front contrast with boardwalk side margins.
The city Huntington reminds me of a surfing spot I used to frequent in CA. Not an expensive note, I bought it ungraded on eBay in September 2013.
