Owner's Description

This 1874 $500 Legal Tender Note is an outstanding example of an issue with only five known surviving
examples, one of which is located in the Smithsonian Institution. The Dauer specimen is the finest of the
examples known. This note also comes with a historic pedigree, hailing from Amon Carter’s collection.
