Owner's Description

Adams, NY The Farmers NB Ch. # (E)4061 PMG 15 $10 1902 DB Fr. 618 SN 3904/N260922B pp A/264 dtd. May 30, 1902. Of the five banks chartered in this Jefferson County location, this is the only one which is even remotely "common," with even this institution having only nine pieces recorded in the census. Bold, black signature of H.W. Hannahs, Cashier and a slightly faded signature of G.W. Hannahs, President. Adams is located in Jefferson County, south of Watertown, and is named after President John Adams. Sandy Creek flows westward through the southern part of the town, and Stony Creek flows through the northern part. Both creeks are direct tributaries of Lake Ontario.
