Taunton, MA The Bristol County NB Ch. # 766 PMG 20 $20 1882 BB Fr. 494 Bruce | Wyman SN 6862/A533777A pp A/40 dtd. Jan. 4th 1885. This is the only $20 Brown Back reported from a none too common bank that opened in 1865 and closed in 1916. It is seen with bold signatures of A.H. (Albert) Tetlow, Cashier and Seth L. Chushman, President, and has excellent eye appeal for the grade. The first of three banks in Taunton to receive charters, all in 1865.
