Set Description:
John Overton Jr., a slave was born March 18, 1864, Monroe, Louisiana. He established and owned several Hygienic Manufacturing line of ladies fine
cosmetics Sales companies. One being High-Brown Products, a full of ladies fine cosmetics in Chicago. Mr Overton also sought a national bank charter
and in 1922 he opened the Douglas National Bank.
This was the 2nd nationally chartered, Afro-American-owned bank and the 1st to issue "National Bank Notes".

John Davidson Rockefeller Jr., started the Dunbar National Bank of New York on September 17, 1928 and closed it in 1935. It was named after writer poet
Paul L. Dunbar. The bank was established to serve the business and personal banking interest of Harlem's Afro-American population. It was managed
by Afro-Americans.

Azie Taylor Morton Treasurer of the United States (September 12, 1977 - January 20, 1981) Appointed by President Jimmy Carter her signature was printed on all U.S. Currency During her tenure. She was the only Afro-American to hold the office.

Judson W. Lyons (Register of the Treasury) appointed by President William Mckinley. He served from 1896 to 1906. His signature appears on the Series 1902 Blue Seal Plain Back National Bank Note from Fort Worth Texas
