The Central Bank of the Philippines was established was created by Republic Act 265 The first official banknotes the CB issued were 1, 2,5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Pesos. The 200 and 500 Peso notes were withdrawn from circulation on December 31, 1957 per Republic Act 1516. Note 1-50 peso were printed until 1961 The fractional currency notes 5, 10, 20 and 50 centavos (1951-1957) and 1/2 peso (1955) notes were printed. In 1958 United States mint produced metallic coinage to phase of fractional circulating notes. As late as 2019 200 Peso notes could be purchased at the CB at face value.
