In 1972 the 5, 10, 20 and 50 piso banknotes printed by Thomas de la Rue were improved by the Bangko Sentral. The changes include, more solid lettering, a change of colour for the portraits to the dominant colour of the note, and the tinting of the unprinted ends of the notes.
The 50 piso had its seal and signatures moved, and the denomination moved from the top to the bottom of the note.
