Even though this series was issued on Aug 31, 1965 ; My collection of Military Payment Certificates Series 641 has a special meaning to me. My father, Stephen H. Phillips, was Killed In Action on July 18th, 1965 in Viet Nam while serving with the "Big Red One" ~ I was born 43 days later on Aug 30th of 1965.
