The 1939 Dime is common overall, however with Full Bands a bit scarcer, so those have a premium. My example has great surfaces a full strike throughout to go with great originality as evidenced by the wispy light toning.

The final San Francisco issue the 1945 S is common in all grades though full bands are the minority. My example of this issue is a very nice blast white MS67 FB. It possesses an excellent strike throughout, with great surfaces and a blast white appearance.

The 1945 micro–S Mercury Dime is another major variety the 3rd in the Mercury Dime set. Not particularly scarce, certainly less so than the 2 overdates, but certainly more challenging than the standard version. My example is a flashy blast white MS65 FB with great surfaces. It has also earned a green CAC sticker.

The 1945 D, the final year issue from the Denver mint is common in all grades including with Full Bands. My example here is a PQ MS66 FB’s, I believe this is under graded, great luster and strike and nearly flawless surfaces, there is a faint contact mark on Liberty’s cheek that is visible at certain angles. That could be what is holding back a higher grade. This is another one that I look at for an upgrade, but at the end of the day besides the number, that I would prefer was a 67, I can't find much wrong with this coin. Note the certification number on this one, #61076-024, someone made the mistake of reholdering this one a long time ago.

The 1945 P is a very common issue, as well as the final year in the series. FB issues of this coin however are extremely rare and as such it is a key to the series if FB is your required criteria. My example here is absolutely gorgeous, looks like it is fresh off the mint, and while it is not designated FB, it does have a very nice strike, especially for this issue and some band separation in the middle bands is very evident with about 50% FB, the balance of the coin exhibits a very strong strike. It actually looks Full Bands in hand without a loop, I was excited for a moment lol.

With a mintage of 231,410,000 the 1944 P had the highest mintage in the series, and in low to mid mint state grades they are very common as would be expected. That said in high MS grades with full bands they are surprisingly difficult. My example is a pristine MS67 FB with fantastic surfaces, luster, and a full strike throughout.

1944 D is both common and an issue that was generally well struck, a great choice for a type set. My example here doubles as my type set example. It is nearly flawless, great strike, blast white, booming luster, and just a couple very small imperfections only visible with a loop. It has graded MS68 FB only 9 examples have graded higher.

1943 P Mercury Dimes, a WWII issue with 3rd from the highest overall mintage is very common even with FBs. This example is a very nice blast white issue, a type favored by many, with pristine surfaces and a full strike throughout, grading in at MS67 FB.

The 1942 S is another of the common issues of the 1940’s, though FBs can be a bit more challenging with this one than some of the others. My example here is a spectacular, flashy MS66 FB, the strike is excellent, the surfaces nearly flawless, if not for a dark smudge on Liberty’s neck it would be on the verge of perfection. It has earned a seldom seen Gold CAC sticker.

The 1942 D is a common issue, even with full bands. This example is very well struck throughout, has great surfaces and luster to go along with totally original unmolested toning and to me seems undergraded at MS66 FB. It does have a greenbean that could be gold in MHO. The coin is housed in an old NGC Fatty with the Gold embossed lettering.

The 1941 D Mercury Dime is another of the common issues of the 1940’s, also relatively easy to find with Full Bands. My example is a rather flashy and well struck MS67 with FB’s and green CAC confirmation.

As is typical of the later issues the 1941 S is quite common as are FB examples. My 1941 S Dime is a well struck example grading MS67 FB’s. This exceptional example also has earned a green CAC sticker.

1940 D is another common date where Full Bands were also common. This particular example is very appealing to me, I love the originality of the toning with aqua blue, greens, and reddish color, super clean surfaces and an excellent strike throughout.

The 1940 S is another common date of the 1940's, though less so with full bands. This is a great example with originality, luster, natural toning, nice surfaces, and a full strike throughout. Grading in at MS66 FB and housed in an old NGC fatty holder.
