A spectacular piece from the age of Queen Victoria, The 1901 10 cent from the straits settlements, 1901 was the very last year that Queen Victoria straits settlements coinage was produced, it has a mintage of 2,700,000 all being made out of 0.800 silver, it has a diameter of 18mm with a thickness of 1.35mm, it weighs 2.71 grams and it had a reeded edge, it was also engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon. After 1901, straits settlements featured King Edward VII, which later changed again in 1918 to King George V.This piece is still in exquisite condition, it has cartwheel luster on both the obverse and the reverse, it also has blue-greyish speckled toning on both the obverse and the reverse, it only has one tiny gouge on the obverse between the 1 and the 0. it is one of the best pieces in existence. An amazing piece from the age of King Edward, the 1903B straits settlements 1 dollar raised mintmark, it has a diameter of 37.3mm and a thickness of 2.5mm, the mintage for the 1903B raised mintmark is unknown as we only know the total mintages of the 1903B Incuse and raised which is 15,009,891, it weigh 26.95 grams which is quite a lot to the 20.2176 grams that th 1907-1909s weigh, as silver prices were increasing, and in 1919-1926 they were only 16.848 grams during the time of King George V, even the quality of silver dropped from 0.900 silver in 1903B to 1909 to silver 0.500 from 1919-1926. The edge on the 1903B raised and Incuse are both reeded, the engraver was also changed from Leonard Charles Wyon to George William De Saulles. the raised mintmark is significantly rarer that the incuse mintmark, as they are more sought after. Both the incuse and the raised. mintmarks were both struck at the Bombay mint, which is located in India, yet in lower grades they are still worth quite a lot, the lettering on the back means One Dollar, it is written in Chinese Traditional and Jawi, there also another way to see the raised mintmark, you can look at the bottom of the bust near the initials DES there a tiny dot near DES, if there is, means that the coin is a raised mintmark, unfortunately, the dot on this coin is a bit vague as there is some ware and scratches on the dot, the B on this piece is thankfully visible, but it is still vague, this piece is also in a very nice condition of AU50, which stands for About uncirculated 50, which also means that it is extremely close to a mintstate grade, as this piece has only minor wear, it has some slight dark-greyish toning around the edges with some luster on the obverse and the reverse. This piece is extremely sought after by collectors of straits settlements coinage, I am extremely happy to own this coin in my collection. thank you for reading!

A beautiful example of an 1889 1/4 cent from the age of Queen Victoria, the age of queen victoria is the first age of straits settlements coinage, even though the 1889 is not an out of this world date, it is still a good date overall, it has a mintage of 2,000,037, and is made out of bronze, but from 1872-1883, they were made out of copper, then in 1884-1916 they were all made out of bronze, it had a diameter of 18mm and a thickness of 1mm and weighed 2.33grams and it had a reeded edge, engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon.Usually most queen Victorian coinage are very rare to be in BU (brilliant uncirculated), this piece is no exception to that, this piece is in an extremely high grade of 65 RB( Red Brown), there are three types of colours, BN(Brown), (Red Brown) and RD(Red), this piece has amazing eye appeal, with glistening cartwheel luster, this piece is a critical piece to this collection, I am a proud and happy collector to own this coin thank you !
