NEW METAL, ALUMINUM, DOLLAR. LIGHT ROTATION ERROR AROUND 20 DEGREES. VERY RARE ERROR FOR A SO CALLED DOLLAR.

THERE ARE ONLY A TOTAL OF (19) OF THIS TYPE LISTED IN THE NGC CENSUS. VERY LOW POPULATION FOR A SO-CALLED DOLLAR FROM THIS EXPOSITION.

STACKS BOWERS SOLD AN NGC MS 62 EXAMPLE OF THIS TYPE FOR $299.00.

MY NGC GRADED MS 64 PL EXAMPLE WAS SOLD BY HERITAGE AUCTIONS IN 2022 FOR $750.00.

For many years aluminum was more valuable than gold. Several processes developed in the 1850s lowered its price, but when the pyramidal aluminum cap of the Washington Monument was produced in 1884, the cost of aluminum was still about $1 per ounce, similar to the cost of silver.
