Owner Comments:
From a Kolner Munzkabinet auction at the end of 2018. Ex collection of Professor Hildebrecht Hommel (1899-1996), purchased by him in1976 at the Landesgirokasse Stuttgart (Sammlernotiz). Hommel was a classical philologist, and became a member of various National Socialist organizations during Nazi rule of Germany. He was dismissed from the University by occupying allied powers in 1945.
