TOKEN APPEARANCE/CONDITION:
Almost Uncirculated+ — Type I (8-Sided Scallop Shaped)
*Even wear, hairlines, and contact marks throughout. Untoned surfaces enhance the sharp overall lettering which significantly stands out. - The interwoven design in the ‘5’ on the reverse is sharp, unique, and interesting. — An extremely rare issue, particularly in a problem-free state just below the standing of uncirculated.*

Token used at “Joy’s Butter Store” for 5C in trade/refund when returning bottle circa 1911. The establishment was located at 1505 Lawrence Street as seen on the obverse. Pritchard lists “Joy” as a butter store..

There are two varieties of the “Joy’s Butter Company” 5C denomination; both are extraordinary rare. Type I (8-sided scallop shaped) as seen here, and Type II (4-sided scallop shaped).
