TOKEN APPEARANCE/CONDITION:
Choice Uncirculated+ — Square Shaped
*A stunning example of this exceedingly rare variety of which just 1 example is known to have survived. If true, you’re looking at it! — It is common knowledge trade tokens were widely circulated in the early-mid 20th century. Finding examples in choice uncirculated condition is not common; let alone issues with just 1 example believed to exist. — A brilliant specimen with sharp devices and near proof-like fields; a true rarity of this collection.*

TOKEN BACKGROUND:
Token used by “Cigars & Tobacco” in Cripple Creek, Colorado for 5C in trade circa 1912-1915. - Pritchard notes the establishment was owned by local proprietor H.B. Moulton which was listed in the Colorado Business Directory and is seen on the obverse of the token.
—————
Only one issue is listed for “Cigars & Tobacco” of Colorado Springs, CO. Additionally, just 1 example of the “only” issue is known. A further suggestion of rarity is that this issue is not listed in the CMT (Colorado Merchant Token) guide, but is by Pritchard.
