*Near proof-like mirrored fields; Blazing frosted white of this rare issue. Lustrous and sharp, particularly on the reverse. Lettering stands out in contrast to the overall surfaces. Even contact marks/abrasions throughout.*

Token used by “Pastime” in Grand Junction, Colorado for 10C in trade circa mid 20th century (billiard hall). Establishment was located at 216 South 2nd Avenue, as noted on the obverse. Listed by Pritchard under “The Late Runs” category. — There are 5 denominations listed under the Grand Junction Pastime (5C/10C/25C/50C/$1); all are rare. The survival rate between the issues ranges from 4-9. — Token is listed by Pritchard but not in the CMT (Colorado Merchant Token) guide; indicating a higher overall rarity.

“After the removal of the Utes, Grand Junction was plotted in 1881 at the junction of the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers. Initially there were 150 men and 2 women so the call went out that the first lady that got married in town would get a free choice lot, a free ceremony and a guarantee that the knot would be tied hard, soft, tight, or loose.
