Owner Comments:

ANA MEDAL APPEARANCE/CONDITION:
*Stunning, proof-like specimen with deeply mirrored fields; appears to potentially even be a proof strike. — The obverse features an eagle design whist boasting sharp detail and lustrous surfaces. The reverse design is reminiscent of the privately struck $10 Denver gold pieces and is also well struck with a cameo lustrous appeal. — Attempted to submit a different Gallery Mint issue in this collection to NGC for certification; however, it came back as “ineligible type” and was sent back; uncertain as to why since many other miscellaneous issues were indeed certified. Therefore, I will not be sending this piece in, as it’ll remain raw until NGC changes it’s policy on grading Gallery Mint issues (if/when).*

ANA MEDAL BACKGROUND:
Commemorates the 105th ANA Convention in Denver, Colorado circa 1996. — Very little, if any, information exists on this particular coin show. — Interestingly, the “Ten” in what should be “Ten D.” on the reverse is spelled as “Tin”; which is indicative of its metal content.

RARITY: Unknown; Likely rare (I have never encountered another example).

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
(Gallery Mint):
The Gallery Mint Museum specializes in minting reproductions of antique coins, which they sell to collectors who want to fill in gaps in their collections without paying unaffordable prices for the genuine. A great example of this is the 1804 Dollar.
Additionally, issues are minted for various events and coin clubs with renowned and famous designs.
