Choice Proof+ — Designated “Deep Proof Like” by NGC
*Handsome ultra cameo example of this uncommon issue. Deep cameo fields enhance the frosty obverse device. Untoned surfaces allow for exceptional eye-appeal. - Scattered marks/abrasions which led to the grade of MS-64. However, still an exceptional specimen from 1978.*

MEDAL BACKGROUND:
Struck circa 1978 to commemorate the “Colorado Springs Coin Show” which had the theme of “The Provisional Territory of Jefferson. His bust is shown on the obverse of the medal. — Colorado is also noted for being the centennial state on the reverse, as it obtained 100 years of statehood in 1976, whereas the US obtained 200 years the very same year.

The ANA has held conventions annually in most years since 1891, and expanded to two annual shows in 1978. Colorado Springs, as commemorated on this medal, was the first city to host the Spring Convention.
