NGC US Coin Census for Silver Eagles (1986-Date)

Owner Comments:

The US Mint has minted quite a few other coins in the 6 years since a silver eagle version was last offered. However, they started off making waves in 2019 with the very first enhanced reverse proof offering jointly introduced with the Royal Canadian Mint. The finish known as Enhanced Reverse Proof contains several levels of frosting unlike a standard proof or reverse proof coin that have only "frosted" and "mirrored" finishes. These different levels can be strategically placed to "enhance" certain features of the coin visually.

This version from San Francisco had a similar design as the Pride of 2 Nations version, but was limited to less than 30,000. Instantly, this became the overall mintage leader of all silver eagles, including slightly edging out the 1995-W silver eagle mintage of 30,125 as included in the 10th Anniversary Eagle Set.

This coin retains the overall mintage rarity of all silver eagles, however, the 1995-W was made at an earlier time at the West Point Mint when they did not have as much experience with handling, resulting in less coins at a grade of 70. As a result, the 1995-W retains the overall edge in premium for 70 grades.

Mintage: 29,909
