The Royal Mint struck its first 1/4 sovereign in 2009 both in bullion and proof issues and continued to do so yearly ever since.
Like the sovereign and the half-sovereign it features on the obverse the bust of the Queen facing right and on the reverse Pistrucci's design of St.George slaying the Dragon.
