Polar Babies - Sea Otter (5)
1/2 Oz Silver - Proof
5th and final Issue of the Polar Babies Series
Limited Mintage of 5,000 coins
The series "Polar Babies" dedicates the fifth and final issue to the sea otter. Struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2 ounce of 99,99% silver in proof quality, the coin features a sea otter pup sitting on the ice. The sea otter is an aquatic member of the weasel family and the second smallest marine mammal. Spending most of their time in the water, they have webbed feet, dense, water repellent fur which provides insulation, and nostrils and ears that close when submerged.
The coin’s reverse features the Ian rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2017 year-date and the monetary denomination.
