Owner Comments:

This is one of four medals from the World’s Columbian Expo that are commonly known as Bird’s Eye View Dollars. Each of the four has a different design. It is struck in aluminum. The obverse depicts a view of the expo’s buildings as seen from above. The reverse has a scene showing Columbus’s ships with the Santa Maria in the foreground. The NGC pop in MS-62 is 5/1. The overall rarity is R5 (76-200 known).
