Owner Comments:

In 1892-3, aluminum was a metal that was just entering public use thanks to advancements in mass production during the 1880s. This medal was struck to be sold as a souvenir at the World’s Columbian Exposition to promote the use of aluminum. It is Lustrous, with mirrored fields and a few light contact marks that are consistent with its grade. Its eye appeal is far better than I was able to capture in my photos. The NGC pop in MS-63 prooflike is 2/1. The overall rarity is R4 (201-500 known).
