Owner Comments:

This piece is the second of eight different medals known as New Metal Aluminum Dollars that were struck for the 1892-3 World’s Columbian Exposition. It is very well struck and has exquisite deep-proof-like surfaces. It is one of only two examples that have attained the deep-proof-like designation by NGC and at MS-64 DPL, it is the finest known example of this medal. The overall rarity is R4 (201-500 known).
