DID YOU KNOW…that out of Frank Miller’s legendary Daredevil run from issue #158 through issue #191, that Daredevil #162 is the ONLY issue in which Frank Miller had NO CONTRIBUTION to?
Published in January of 1980, Frank Miller had conflicting creative differences with Roger McKenzie—the writer for the Daredevil title during that time, which they could not agree as to what direction to steer the title. As a result, due to the setback of having to meet the deadline in producing another issue after Daredevil #161, where Daredevil battled Bullseye atop the Cyclone rollercoaster in Brooklyn, NY, Marvel had to commission the legendary artist Steve Ditko to render the cover and interior art on short notice! In addition, writer Michael Fleisher collaborated with Ditko in authoring the story for the “filler issue” within the iconic Frank Miller Daredevil run!
Therefore, Daredevil #162 is an anomaly within Frank Miller’s legendary Daredevil run, but also gives us a special Steve Ditko Daredevil cover to collect and cherish!
In closing, I purchased this NEAR PERFECTLY WRAPPED & CENTERED copy from Mr. Chris Lee (via Instagram) in April of 2022! I am super proud to own this immaculate copy and look forward to watching it appreciate each year!
