Published in February of 1986, Daredevil #227 features Frank Miller’s RETURN as scripter on the title in which he made his presence felt—by writing the CLASSIC “Born Again” story arc!
For historical purposes, Frank Miller’s original Daredevil run spans issues #158 (May 1979) through #191 (February 1983)! Furthermore, Miller did not begin taking over the title as both artist AND writer until Daredevil #168 (January 1981), where he introduced us to the female ninja assassin known as—Elektra!
As a result, Frank Miller steered the title into more dark and mature content that evolved into the gritty, street level Daredevil streaming series that we love in the present time! Moreover, the “Born Again” story arc that was originally introduced in Daredevil #227, was used to name Season 3 of the original Netflix TV Series and was also the title chosen for Daredevil’s highly anticipated return to the BIG screen, which is scheduled to drop on Disney+ in the Spring of 2024!
Therefore, Daredevil #227 can be considered a significant KEY Daredevil issue, which has already been trending upwards in value!
In addition, the David Mazzucchelli Manhattan skyline cover is superb! You gotta love seeing the Empire State Building and the Original Twin Towers lighting up the midnight sky, with crosshairs aimed at Daredevil and the Kingpin’s image looming in the background!
In closing, I purchased this PERFECTLY WRAPPED & CENTERED copy from absolutecomicsandstatues (via eBay) in April of 2022! I am super proud to own this immaculate copy and look forward to watching it appreciate each year!
