Set Description:

Originally I had planned to collect the first 10, maybe up to 20, (no variants) in 9.8.

I"d acquired about a half dozen in the first 20. Then came the most fateful and expensive $40 of my life (no complaints). There was a #11 on ebay with 'Make an offer'. The seller and I settled on $40 and I thought that was it. The seller later emailed me after and said he had other Saga books if I was looking for any. I told him what my current search was for and he had everything I was looking for and so much more! I'd stumbled on Cdub who had the top rated set on the registry. And deservedly so! During our many emails he created an interest in me to add the many variants I had not planned to go after. We came to an agreement for the bulk of his books through the first 20 with many of the variants. Receiving the books was an awesome experience! There are some truly spectacular books here!

We continued to build on our Saga friendship over time. Cdub is a passionate and highly knowledgeable info source for all things Saga. And I was more than happy to share and learn more about this great title with him. Over time I thought about going beyond my initial goal and completing the set. Unfortunately, for me, by the time I reached this point Cdub had sold off a few books that I would later learn were some of the hardest to find! I acquired most of Cdub's remaining collection a few months after the first portion. If I hadn't worked out the purchase of that #11 for $40 I'd never have gone down the path that I ended upon.

Now I was on the hunt to fill in my gaps. I found some of the books I needed fairly easily. Others proved to be difficult to get no matter what I tried. Recently I was contacted by another top set collector - TheFirstAvenger - who I'd been unsuccessful in reaching before. He was in the process of trying to sell his collection. He had several books better than mine that I was hopeful of acquiring. Thanks to my wonderful wife I was able to work out the purchase of TFA's top-tier books! There are still books out there that I'm either looking for or hoping to work out purchases and/or trades for. Ultimately now I'd like to have each book in the run in 9.8 or better with both creator's sigs. So to any Saga collector with a CGC 9.8, 9.9, 10 blue or yellow label (sketch or no sketch) feel free to contact me anytime. I'm always happy to meet fellow collectors!

Hardest variants to find in 9.8 in my experience: #1 - Fourth print and #6 - Second print
Hardest issue to find in 9.8 non-variant: #24 - no idea why but you'd think this one would be easy
Mexican Saga #1 in 9.8 (non-variant) I'm trying to learn more about and acquire. If anyone knows details about this and other Mexican Saga books I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks for checking this out.
