Set Description:
Spidey from A-Z. Spidey! It's the same from day to day, stop the crime and find a way. Keep the relationships and make the best of the situation, as all may depend on the timing or thwip of a web! If Peter Parker or Spider-man keeps dating, we may even see a real swinger from time to time. I believe that is the only "wall", so to speak, that has not been partitioned to break. Break even? Peter is, as Peter does, and this is the days of his life "soap opera!"
When the hard times get harder, then Spidey will be the reinforcement needed to overcome, the evil doers beware!
There can be and will be many a volume when it comes to the substance carried on within the Spider-verse. One doesn't necessarily continue to the other, as there are endings in between, but where you pick up and leave off is left to the reader. Marvel comes by way of Timely Comics and a transition that has left nearly a century of established art, writings, and all that can be found within a hero or noir. Amazing Spider-man is a headstrong contender to stand above the rest when it is considered a true end, but ongoing as it is, volumes of time-tested methods with mistakes learned from, which way comes many a rendition of a Spider-man! Eerie and bitten, a bit radioactive: Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, John Romita both SR and JR, along with other immortalized one's such as Todd McFarlane, Mark Bagley, and those that would dare pen a saga, such is this Marvel Universe in volume 1 and 2.

2nd appearance of the Vulture. Stan Lee story. Steve Ditko cover and art. In the first appearance Spidey wins and the Vulture goes to prison only to then perfect his apparatus! Now with flaws sewed up, the formidable foe is more successful, and Spidey breaks his arm, only to then have to reface this upstart known as the Vulture! There are more wins and defeats, only for later someone else to take up the Vulture moniker and emblem of winged fury. There are many things to say for old age and the curmudgeon ways that follow those found wisdoms. I had this issue in Spider-man Classics in a subscription as a kid, and those reads only confirmed with what nostalgia the issues could hold to several generations. It takes those spokespersons or people to put those follies of funny books toward those inclined, whether in our youth or not they live on!
Complete with a back cover picture of the 2-part story reprint from the Dallas Morning News under copy, from as a kid as well. Those made for some easy reads to recapture the nostalgia or youth of after school reads and relaxations within those first experiences. Showing the Spidey arm in a sling and coming up with excuses that made him seem fragile, when in fact he is an Amazing Spider-man!

1st appearance of the Living Brain. Fantastic Four appearance in backup story. I bought this as a raw from Local Comic Shop Keith's Comics. I was all in raw and slabbing for $285! Win! It spent some quality time at CGC, probably due to the great price increase of 2022, yet I'm glad to soon have it delivered to add the pic. This was a win all around, as I had hopes for it, but thought it more like 2.5/2.0. Ha-ha. I'm stoked for 4.0, as this is "early Spider-man" at its finest. To think we have come so far with technology, that these innovative story books of old speak to the inspiration for today. I read this story as a kid in Spider-man Classics, a series that in the late 80's I had a comic subscription too. Nice to have this memento as a reminder of simpler times, when there was no type of real time tracking for mail. A modern marvel was the USPS back then, as online tracking proves today! Indeed, the inner workings of some business are now more apparent and public, and now it shows as a throwback to remind me of how long I've lived and what I've experienced personally!
Complete with a back cover picture of the reprints from the Dallas Morning News newspaper from the early 90's, where I can still now read the story!
Grader Notes:
heavy spine stress lines to cover;
moderate bends to cover;
moderate creasing to cover;

2nd appearance of Doctor Octopus. 1st appearance and "death" of Bennett Brant. Got this on sale for $350 shipped on the Dave and Adams website, only cream to off-white pages, but I'll take it. I have a raw reprint of this issue to read, it is "to be continued" in the next issue, ASM #12. Spidey tries to get his man, but also keep his secret identity to himself, even when it will hurt his love life. Such is the life of some heroes, but they are heroes none the less! Daily this hero is living 2 lives, they both come with responsibility, and which will win out to be dominant? Keep your eyes on the spider and Peter Parker duo, it may be both an internal and external struggle. All ties that bind this series together! Speaking of the spectacular way it was done, called the "Marvel Formula!" That had its time as successful, it may need tweaking as modern times change, but it was in the characteristics that are tried and true. It is when you try to keep those features but bend them in a new angle and publish something not quite up to snuff that is a shortcoming. Those are forgivable if you can then take the lumps and have the lessons learned! Trial and error are always allowed up to a point, try and try again!
Complete with a back cover picture of the reprints from the Dallas Morning News newspaper that I have to read the story. All people should read some Stan Lee to compare to the modern style, if not, just to show the comparison to "modern times."

Steve Ditko! I finally snagged me one, the 1st appearance of Mysterio. Stan Lee Story, even reading classic reprints as a kid the intrigue was phenomenal. Yes, before his time Ditko knocked it out with the trickster of Mysterio. Somehow, someway, this is other worldly. Doing the impossible, before it was thought possible, and all for the sake of taking down an Amazing Spider-man. The threat is real, and Spider-man cannot believe his eyes. Even in the movies and cartoons the Mysterio is formidable, got to be my 2nd favorite villain, if just for originality. Given the scope of what was only possible back then, way to GO! DITKO! He made it his own and with great success, to Stan's credit too! It takes a duo to give feedback and house ideas that eventually became the Marvel we know. Not all one man's accomplishment but by the coming together that the books wrote about! Success!
Complete with back cover picture of the prescreen pass of, "Spider-man: Far from Home!" I finally tracked it down in my emails, to see the movie before it hit theaters. My early days of prescreens, it was also a dine in theater, I took my mom for my early birthday! Bought her a milk shake! Yahoo! An awesome time and flick!

1st Daredevil crossover. 2nd appearance of the Ringmaster and His Circus of Crime. Notes: Staples added after manufacturing! A constant reminder that NOOB mistakes can happen anytime! I should have hung out for a better copy, but I didn't see this listing very well as it had a blurry pic. The grade was visible, and I thought at first that's all that matters.... lesson learned! Can't we all be this nimble, this quick, when picking books or slabs for our collections? I think not! Only the Daredevil and Spider-man can jump over an acrobat candle stick. We need that ringmaster to call foul and put these heroes together instead of against each other. What in the world of Barnum and Bailey? Cut, Cut! Daredevil and his yellow costume have made it to Netflix in the She-Hulk show, and it was novelty but went over well with the audience. Many a time nuances are short lived, but it can be considered the original and somehow then iconic. Oh, ya! Definitely always learning.
Complete with a back cover picture of, "Cammy!" Daredevil showing the same Street Fighter Video Game moves! As far back as the silver age and makes for what the swiftness would look like, if he were not wearing the mask. A Sideshow piece, with flowing hair and "karate kid" sweep of the leg!

1st Ned Leeds. Daredevil and Avengers cameo. Fantastic Four and Sandman Appearance. Picked it up from Dave and Adams, for a little over $200. The Ned Leeds lead was cool to finally add, needed at least mid-grade for the hive of villainous scum. LOL, we have the current Ned Leads in the Spider-man movies promising up and down that he won't become a villain, though in the past, we were not so lucky. Great Jehoshaphat we've got Biblical Proportions to go to, but it may all be a ploy to satisfy viewers. As the last Spider-man, where the past ones showed up, went over really well. Better call who you know and pray that the resolve is quick, these still haven't been available as much in grade with price. Early Spider-man for the art and story is fun, even if this particular copy has a white border at the top, I assume it is a bit miscut.
Complete with a back cover picture of a Dallas Morning News newspaper reprint that excerpts the story of an early if not first appearance of the Sandman, and I don't mean Adam Sandler! These newspaper issues were a simpler time, and in the 90's, comics were that popular!
Grader Notes:

moderate spine stress lines breaks color;
moderate staining to cover;
moderate wear all corners breaks color.

1st Cameo Appearance of Mary Jane Watson the red-head-bad-girl, face not shown. 1st appearance of Professor Spencer Smythe. The Spider-Slayer! "Its" 1st appearance as well! Where is Peter Parker? And who pray-tell is this "SPIDER-MAN!?!" Where and how does he EXIST?? Jameson is not done with Parker the Spider-man by a long shot. And any future Spider-slayers will tell you, Spidey doesn't go down as easy as a rolled-up newspaper. Poor Jameson just cannot see the big picture in letting a "Spider-man" be a hero. Jameson believes that to be unthinkable and wants Parker to get the "evidence" to incriminate. Bought from Duncanville Bookstore at the time of a Roy Thomas signing, because this LCS is quite a drive for me, and I had to double down on making it "worth it!" At the time it was about 2019 and it was kind of priced high at $175, but I thought "that is early silver age, a no brainer." I'm glad to have the earliest pictorial of MS Jane, face not shown. Even though it isn't the 1st time she is ever mentioned, as that was in ASM #15 when Aunt May wanted to set Peter Parker up on a blind date!
Complete with a back cover picture of "Moxxi!" Showing inspiration from the video game, "The Borderlands", entanglement ensues with J. Jonah Jameson and Mary Jane Watson all sounding the sirens of spunk, punk, and otherwise "Go Get Them Attitude!" Moxi Lady! Bought from GameStop!

2nd Appearance of the Scorpion, a real stinger that has caused the Amazing Spider-man some heartache. The relationship is seemingly a stingers poison! A very fun cover and example of just what lengths the Scorpion will go to, to get that Spider-man pie in the oven. Parker will traverse his power as a Spider and learn what it takes to be the "Man He Needs To Be!" No longer pulling punches, that tail with a stinger tries to sweep the leg. Spider-man with his sense of wits will hold on to the end. It has the pull to gather more in a web, but don't spiders have stingers as well? Rest assured the Spider-Man will sling something other than timid behavior to stand up for what is right! He's learned that not all villains are to be reasoned with, it'll all be on the line in the end. Glad to buy this one already graded and not have to open myself to grade an older book so carefully, as some Silver Age is just too nice, and I can buy a reprint to read.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Kung Fu Panda 4!" There is a Scorpion villain in the Nickelodeon series, and all the more reason for Spiders or Pandas to know Kung Fu! Jack Black voices this fun-loving sugar bear to the delight of audiences, as he is a bit fun-loving himself. All the more reason to know what to do when terror strikes innocence!

light spine stress lines breaks color;
light, multiple crease left top of back cover;
moderate wear all corners.

1st appearance of Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn and Professor Miles Warren. Smooth Spider Action in Cover Attraction for the Ages! It has the divisiveness of a decisive story that makes you wonder where in the plot it is going in the future. A turn of events has Peter Parker wondering if new acquaintances are the makings of love or the tie that binds. Gwen is in the know for most things and teaches Parker what for, if she only knew the responsibility carried in the mind of Spidey and or his alter ego. Attraction can come when there is usefulness for all parties, and that spark ignites the interaction of closeness guaranteed to bring the security and knowledge of intimacy! Those are big shoes to fill, and circumstances seem in their proper order to make all those involved start thinking, "A Perfect Match!" This will be bigger on screen, but those big moments rival any villain around, as LOVE can truly rule and win over evil!
Complete with a back cover picture of the Atomic Blonde DVD portraying the giant size level of chemistry that the blondes such as Stacy bring to the table! When it is rumored as more fun, it can shake the cliche's to keep true with preppy style, and yet dangerously a heartbreaker all the same!

moderate creasing to cover;
moderate spine stress lines to cover.

1st appearance of Norman Osborn and the Robot-Master (Mendel Stromm). Robot cover. Robots? Not that they necessarily transform physically, although some might and purposefully to pound a Spider-man to rubble. An old known acquaintance that speaks to Norman Osborn and how he is seen at the end trying to sway the robot's success while polishing his rifle. These are the back stories to now infamous villains and where they come from, i.e. their transformation into serious powers of influence that went on for decades. Those took a myriad of ways and intertwining that only a Spider-man can possibly hope to know the whole story. Early on in this volume it is just getting started, but already Spidey is placing tracers to track, which is almost before its time! We've got the innovative innovators putting good use to known technology at the time, and by way of spy vs spy it kept readers riveted to say the least!
Complete with a back cover picture of the screen at the prescreen before released publicly of, "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts!" As a robot take over is imminent, and beyond the skies comes the trigger event! Found on earth, however, for them to then activate, initiate, and otherwise continue to transform as thinking living robots for world domination. "ROLL OUT!" These are the innovative transversing's that we are accustomed too in said universe of future, current and past "robots", and with what motivation they are perceived!

2nd cameo appearance of Mary Jane, while being the last Steve Ditko issue! These teasers keep getting closer to the big reveal of the crazy cool MJ, and we have to say goodbye to a friend, the Ditko man lives on! Ditko gets the Love, so does Stan the writer. Big for their time, it came in great timing for Marvel. Thus, completes part of the Journey, mostly, between Stan and Ditko. Spidey taking to swinging and finding it new in each issue, which doesn't come easy sometimes. The Life of a Teenager in Highschool and the Hijinks that can be thought of for the time, with the twists and turns we've come to respect. Hijinks will cause the lessons to be learned. Many a villain has tried Spider-Man and his patience as a hero, but the finale of balance that he's had to juggle provides the stability he hasn't rationalized. It all comes down to one day at a time!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Longshot!" Where we follow a similar Peter Parker type. Instead of newspaper photographer, we follow a reporter writer that takes a "longshot" at love with a hot to trot female who is similar to Mary Jane! Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron in fact. Showing adult themes that comics weren't ready for, but anyone can have puppy love! Same as what Parker hears of rumors about Mary Jane, these undertones get cleared away until the chemistry is revealed. Charlize is easy to look at, as we'll soon see of Mary Jane in comics!

Mary Jane Watson's face revealed for the 1st time in cameo on last page. 2nd appearance of the Rhino, and well, all "rhino" is that he's taking a backseat to the red head show, ahem, "Face it Tiger, You Just Hit the Jackpot!" Mary Jane takes the stage front and center, and that is the spice and zest that those auburn to redheads possess. Flirts alike can't resist but the fierce sheer tenacity is almost unrivaled! Rhino can't make the book on his own and after all, we need a night out to procreate or study science, as the bookworm Peter Parker is about to learn about chemistry, hope the French he took helps out! Many have been patient enough, but a girl getting Spidey to let loose in civies is the first Mary Jane is looking for, as Aunt May has tried to set this up for YEARS! Be careful what you desire or pray, although in this instance it came out sweeter than wine and roses. Every trial or temptation He makes a way of escape! Peter though dove in before he knew what hit him and that trial turned to gold. Picked up Fan Expo Dallas circa 2024, the day of the back cover picture, tie in.
Complete with a back cover picture of the delicate Aunt May herself from the "movies" in Morisa Tomei, circa 2024 Fan Expo Dallas, to come away with the fashionable win! Portraying May is not her most pivotable role but maybe the most impacting. The actress has appeared in Seinfeld, the Wrestler, and with Adam Sandler in Anger Management! "I Feel Pretty!" ~ Adam Sandler. Most know her from My Cousin Vinny! She is aspiring and inspiring with multiple facets of theater! I most recently saw her in a movie, accompanied by a prescreen pass in the "registry pics", called "UPGRADED!"

1st full appearance of Mary Jane Watson, with the Origin of Rhino! A Dave & Adams find, glad to have this as Mary Jane was the only Peter Parker Girl that was quoted to be sexy enough to keep around. Gwen Stacy was too goody two shoes according to creators. Stan Lee you dog! Lol Dubbed by Jerry Seinfeld, "Rhino-plasty, really? The person is already aware there is a problem. Rhino?" Yes, the Rhino charges, bucks, and bronc's and keeps Spidey on his toes, until one blow. Winded, it is now the Spider's turn, bobbing and weaving, they take turns. I hope Mary Jane will console; we've got to give some space for the story to grow. A Campbell print to top it off of everyone's loyal girl, Mary Jane Watson, and if ever to be, the official Mrs. Parker! She saw Parker as the old softy but sometimes a stubborn Spidey wins over, as when Peter gets his personality in the way of his sarcastic brain!
Complete with a back cover picture! Mary Jane in the modern age for sure, but her and Parker first met in the silver age. Bought at Fan Expo Dallas in 2018, I believe, with a 3 pack of prints for $60 from J Scott Campbell's booth. It was nice to visit his table and talk shop. J. Scott Campbell signed print.

Origin and 1st appearance of the Shocker. (Herman Schultz). Peter Parker moves into an apartment with Harry Osborn. The road of best intentions? Poor Harry will be deemed nutzo by the time everything is figured out, and good old Spider-man will have a time keeping his secret identity, you know, a secret! Shocker or shocking! The villains were out in the night knowing what we know now or had ideas of suspicions about Parker, but then and there, it was perfectly normal to keep up the secrecy to all! According to Peter Parker who is trying to sort it all out, through emotional turmoil, questions arise. Like, who do you trust? Peter Parker is finding out what it means to be the person underneath the mask, he's not the only one. Many a time these costumed "heroes" will be deemed villains, and some actually are? If James Jonah Jameson has anything to say about it, these are all the stories that matter! Time will come for these, can't help but buy Silver Age!
Complete with a back cover picture of information about where you get a battery recharge, with the prescreen pass before released publicly to theaters of, "The Current War!" Featuring Tesla as an innovator and Edison as a go getter! Even Tom Holland who is the Spider-man actor guest stars, a "shocker" of a story between claims to fame and keeping inventions hush hush with electricity, lest they be copied or beaten to the punch! Jolts and wattage may vary!

1st Mary Jane on the Cover, I was lucky to Spidey sense this out at Fan Expo Dallas in 2019 from Duncanville Bookstore, a vendor, LCS. Their grading said it was a 7.5 and they hit the grade on the button! Good news a Local Comic Shop that I can depend on the grade from, and Mary Jane, you crazy girl! She knows how to dance, party and get in her kicks. Never really kicking Peter to the curb, she hangs on, the nerve. Keeping vested interest, maybe she'll teach Parker to let loose. All the while, the Amazing Spider-man is swinging every night to keep it safe in town, without losing his own sanity. Getting a girl in the end and building the trust that accumulates will ease the pressure, yet there are many relationships that will come and go within Parkers life or realm. He may learn that he can't save everyone, though to save himself, he must try!
Complete with a back cover picture of the Adam Hughes Sketchbook! Whose pages are featured throughout my registry, both DC AND Marvel. The belted-out tunes called the "BIGGEST HITS!" It's a hard knock life sometimes.

light wear all corners of cover;
