Return Of Wolverine #1 2nd Print Error. Charles Soule story. I didn't know about this "error" comic until the 2018 Christmas raffle where I received a copy that was a 7.5 by Wolverinex a generous boardie. I couldn't wait for that copy to come back from CGC, so I bought this beautiful 9.8! It presents well and has a great cover. I'm grateful to have learned of it and to keep the memories! So much fun to learn something new and keep the train rolling with collectability. I'm trying my hand at "moderns" every once in a while. It was nice to see the Wolverine come back in a big way too. After being marked "dead" and trapped in a pool of ADAMANTIUM that had hardened. He even got heat blades upon his return. Got to go with the plot twist, probably more fun when characters come back to life, than reading months leading up to a "death."
Complete with a back cover picture of the under copy I still own from the boardie. Mementos!

1st Wolverine as Patch. Good ol' Patch! 1st ongoing in title. Wolverine gets fleshed out in this series that is long running and gives the Wolverine a human side! He goes to Madri poor to act as guardian. He has a a soft spot for the way it's done around there, he dares not let anyone know he is the Wolverine. Given that would give too much attention. He wants to lay low to come and go or operate as he sees fit. He's trying to stop the powers that be from pulling the strings. He doesn't want to pull them himself but bares that in mind when cautiously calling in favors. Every time he almost gets it wrapped up some bigger baddie comes out of the woodwork. Bloodsport was one of the first along with Silver Samurai. Got to be careful Wolverine they may be on to you now! Those ongoing issues whether in a number one issue or in an arc within an established ongoing series, just go to show the pivotal movers and shakers upon what stays around over the years!
Complete with the reader run I still have as the back cover picture! What-What! Got to read about the "Patch" character and Keep the Wolverine Under Wraps.

Distorted Hologram and says it on the label. These really to my knowledge cannot be manipulated, nor manufactured "after" production. I got this as a raw from a boardie that was new and who posted it, so I said I'll take it! He gave it to me for a great price, wish him well! Sent it in straight away and it was correctly labeled, I'm super thankful, as it can be tough sometimes to get a label you think is right; whether it's the book that is wrong, or you have to get a grader to take a 2nd look. Well, 1st time and labeled correctly on this book, yeehaw! Glad it was the 2nd of the Distorted Hologram that I bought, and I have lucked into others. Soon to hopefully be a complete set, and in totality a set of these issues! Here is looking at you BUB! Wolverine loses his ADAMANTIUM at the hands of Magneto, yet the healing factor is taxed. He survives with bone claws for a while, until a new set of ADAMANTIUM is provided.
Wraparound Covers with a CGC label notation create yet a niche within a niche, that can excite and stir up the fun of collecting. With more of a cover to look at and drool over, it can make an impression that just might encourage newcomers of newfound love for a medium that is established for years!

Return of the Wolverine's ADAMANTIUM. Yes indeed, it was yanked out by Magneto, and now it is replaced and all to aid the Apocalypse. What will it mean? As a henchman for the "1st ever Mutant", it will take to task the Wolverine. Logan's mind is about to get blown and it will mean restraint at the highest level. What will turn the tide? In this run the only "good" that comes about for it might only be the metal that caused Logan so much pain to begin with. This Canadian is going to learn new lows and new heights, in the classic Wolverine style. Not to make heads or tails of anything, that is Logan's mind, until clarity comes. The Wolverine has been on roller coaster rides in emotion and life's ups and downs. He, seemingly, never quite has the sweet release that he is looking for, and in the end, it will mean the fortitude to stand up to life's trials are in the still moments.
Complete with a back cover picture of a Marvel Card since CGC is grading those now, APOCALYPSE FALL OF THE MUTANTS! He almost horns in on the Wolverine by making him the "Death Horsemen" so to speak!

What could be considered the Liefeld Experience? It could be Deadpool, and it could be pouches, and if the twain should ever meet? I don't know, but it might spell the 90's. Wolverine won't leave Deadpool alone, and much like the Punisher of the 90's, don't ruin your welcome Logan Son! This issue was given to me by the boardie MustEatBrains at a contest or board raffle, and it is credited to his generosity! Times are tough for back issues, as the market has exploded in what I collect. I now have the time now to have stuff sent off to CGC that has been accumulated, and it is making the grade, in most cases. Yes at 7.5 we can't look a gift horse in the mouth. We have to retain what we've been blessed with, much like the Wolverine's ADAMANTIUM in this run! These Deadpool/Wolverine encounters won't always be as blessed with the art! Of Liefeld even? LOL.
Complete with a sketch by Joe Rubenstein, that is an example of this time periods usual art for Logan or the Wolverine. I got it for $60 at Fan Expo Dallas Comic Con 2019 and used it as a back cover pic to show as a comparison to Liefeld. Rubenstein took his time on it and termed it "Happy Logan!" I tend to AGREE!

Homage to Hulk 340! Given to me in the Green Eggs Contest 2018 by musteatbrains! Very generous boardie, who gave me a bunch of $10-20 books at the time that most came back 9.4! Very Generous, and I love this Deadpool and Wolverine Mash-UP COVER! Not quite classic, but it does have spunk. Deadpool is hard to take seriously sometimes, with all the sarcasm. He should pick one personality and stick to it. These early on appearances built a character in Deadpool, but with the eager writers, they never settled on what he is now known for until later. Looking back again, he had chutzpah, and keeps with the attitude. They started out like a rebel without a cause. Today it's just strung along, until he means business by giving a lot of bullets. Deadpool is not the hard ruled: a little liberal and a little giving, sometimes too much.
Complete with back cover picture of the Newsstand version of this book I found for $1! I mean I've got to leave no man nor book behind, sometimes.

"Death of Sabretooth!" Crime Suspense Stories #22 Homage. It doesn't get much gruesome than the classic killer comics of old. Something of older evil, brought to court for infiltrating our youthful gaze. Too much to not rely on the good of a kind heart, who just cares out of Faithful portrayals. I've seen the merry go round before, yet I wish to get off more often than not. Crime and horror, equally distasteful to some, the need for order has been around since the 10 commandments. These are the rules, thank God, just to make you aware. Death of Sabretooth, for the reasons the Wolverine laid out in detail, that the wildness in us all is subject to a quick end. Less we go too far or buck wild. Sometimes the temperament between justification and the actual source of peace is the winner that proves tested and true.
Complete with back cover pic of the regular cover and the cover "B" variant. While striking in their own right, there is something to be said for the homage Greg Land variant. Still, with a death of Sabretooth this issue, we've got the "end" of a feud!

"Old Man Logan" storyline begins, or you could just say 1st ongoing self-titled of "Old Man Logan." Given some movie time, this was a hit of sorts, and although Logan was not the only main focus of the movie, it had new beginnings. Seemingly to "his death" in the film, many a fan turned out. The movie featured X-23 and Daken as well. Sometimes we get old, but still "go on adventures!" Ha-ha sounds like the funny farm, if only. These serious situations bring Logan on a world of discovery. After Logan had lived so long too. It might be fun to see what we survive to experience. Always up for a bout of exercise, the Wolverine has traded in his suit. An old man now remains to see what trouble he can obtain. I'm sure he just wants to leave something to other generations, perhaps that is a mix of actors and actresses' attitudes as well. It matters not the past, giving fun one last blast of ADAMANTIUM FILLED RAGE, berserker!
Wraparound Covers like this try to tell me more of the story without flipping a single page. When on stands and they are not in a bag and board, the discovery usually piques my interest and speaks to me, and I pick it up and consider flipping through the book to delve into the series!

Mattina knocks it out with a Zombie Cover! Zombie...Dark Wolverine, and this issue takes on a life of its own! A 1:10 ratio variant found at Movie Trading Co for Cover Price. Woot! Woot! When I found it, I didn't believe the price, as it had 2 stickers on it. One sticker was from the store I was at and the other that must have come from whom they got it from. I went to the counter to double check, and yes! It was the cheaper price, and now it was mine. I knew it looked to be a part of the "Marvel Zombies" books or promotions that I had heard of, and it WAS a striking cover, so I wanted to know more. This store keeps all comics in bags and boards, and you are not really allowed to take it out to look at it. It appeared NM+, and YES! It was! Thrill of the hunt plays out with some reward to diligently apply oneself to the hobby and to make the best situation they can.
Complete with a back cover picture of the water on tattoos given away at the showing of Deadpool/Wolverine circa 2024, hoopla that featured anywhere from Gambit to Electra and on to Blade, while showing the water mark type rendition that engaged audiences and or Marvel Zombies! Much to everyone's delight with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds going all out with even prizes showing up in claw machines at Dave and Busters, but don't forget your popcorn bucket!

"I'm the best there is at what I do... but what I do best isn't very nice." "Snikt!"- Claremont quote David Finch head sketch on 05/26/17. This is the tag line that started in Wolverine's 1st ongoing series and has been repeated throughout the series since. David Finch is an awesome artist, he's a great inker too, though this sketch is only in pencil. Claremont is a well-known writer making this unique book come full circle. Do I get a sketch on the back? And by whom? Make it a jam piece? I'm excited to see what I come up with. There are plans for other signature series, but I can't forget my Logan amenities. Claremont a plus, David Finch a plus, a Wolverine inspired quote a plus, and all that sums up to mean we can expand or contract. Just need the right utensils and backdrop for the canvas. Left open for interpretation, taglines can draw a conclusion to the individual. That is good writing and with art to back it up, becomes all its own!
Complete with a back cover picture of the regular cover art, which is a "chunk out of the Wolverine" in its own right! Oh, what this Logan has been through, it is a note of healing that he always needs.

My Humble 8.0 Frank Miller Limited Series! I say humble because I sent it in and was crossing my fingers for a grade in the 9.'s. I have the complete set as raw copies, but they have raw signatures from Chris Claremont and Len Wein, as they are my "readers." I would have liked nicer slabs, yet VF is sometimes the sweet spot, especially bronze and now copper, eventually. You can't always get what you want, always dream big though, and sometimes you get what you need. Like other issues in this series, there are comfortably priced in grade available, seems a collectable grade and suits just fine. I enjoy the story that Wolverine must restore honor and earn the rights as any other. Given his ability, and or, handicap it makes for a telling story. About the price of love and how it's not always returned, yet you hope beyond hope for it to be. Logan has since taken to keeping up with himself first, his guard is up a lot of the time, and yet, he has on occasion made concessions.
Complete with a back cover picture of the earlier raw copies I mentioned, they are signed by Len Wen and with the first issue signed by Claremont as well! Time honored readers that get a worthy mention, glad to have survived my first con, as well me considering the implications.

1st full appearance of Yukio. Wolverine And Yukio sitting In A Tree!?! Time for the F.I.G.H.T! The honor of relationships is trying to be restored, or at the very least balanced. The way with Logan is, to do the best he can while being entreated and tested. The end is as inevitable as it begins, with the Wolverine always hoping against hope for a different outcome. Frank Miller tests his abilities in this series, with flowing art and being moving. The Wolverine is light on his feet, but those butterflies for the female variety speak volumes sometimes. Logan, having been trained, is keeping it close to the vest to let any testing fall by the wayside or relent. The Wolverine or Logan himself having known love and felt its pain as well, decides that the trial is worth the effort, as honor in relationships is the ever-resilient teacher that hasn't been as kind to the Wolverine. Logan feeling the "love" almost constantly throughout the ages.
Complete with a back cover picture for contrast, I put my sketch by Neal Adams as a back cover pic. It has a lot of inks, if not overly done. It also portrays the Wolverine as a bit feral with fangs! That can sum up those mutton chops of the limited series cover nicely. A Dave and Adam's grab at $145

#3 in the first solo series for Wolverine, as limited as it may be. A somber cover of reflection. I have this set of #1-4 raw, and they are signed by Claremont and Len Wein. Still, those are my readers, and having slabs in VF is nice to help complete the collection! Got to have them all! The 2nd in a soon to be run of slabs with #1-4 in the Limited Series, and with #1 being the 1st obtained. Got to say these covers stand the test. Keep the inspiration from Frank Miller, and you'll have a winner. Not all Wolvie is enjoyable for the reasons of "Joy!" Sometimes you've got to go through and learn those life lessons that may instead prepare you for something better. Life bestows ability, yet opportunity does not always arrive. Making it happen is a goal, but sometimes those curves can't be forced. Staying in your lane is what Wolverine was trying to do, and now it results in loss. Those aren't new tears for the Wolverine but they seem new because they are in the present for him. He has loved and lost a lot, but these things happen to each of us from time to time!
Complete with a back cover picture of the further raw copies of the complete set, signed by Len Wein, and it takes a reading to be able to recall the importance and describe that feeling to a new generation. Notwithstanding, it takes those nostalgia feels and jumps off the page!

moderate bends to cover.

Last Issue of the 1982 Limited Series, and the Last I needed for my set. Nice to sum it up quickly at NM CGC 9.4 from Reece Comics at $105 shipped. These may have originally been able to be found raw for cheap, and depending on grade, all around cheaper. I was going that route with issue #1 that came back 8.0. How unfortunate that it kind of detoured me from searching as much "in the wild!" That can happen, but it was a series that I wanted to complete in ANY grade VF or better, which is done! Glad to check them off my list, and I suppose I could upgrade if the price and grade were right, this being the second set I've completed, following only the crow and maybe another. Times are changing in big keys, even with the lowering of some sales, that I've resorted somewhat to finishing out sets, and or, just picking up similar comics that are related in a set. This being the last and a prime example for now!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Last Night in Soho!" Wolverine is no stranger to these Asian roadways that can take, like the movie, twists and turns to find out who it is behind it all! Bit of detective work experience and you can work anywhere!
