So this argument with my mother led me to adopt the belief that anything OVER 25 cents was too much for a comic book, so I stopped buying them off the rack or newstand when they hit 30 cents...UNLESS, of course, they were a giant, in which case 50 cents or even a dollar was still OK for my younger days!
I don't know how kids keep up with collections at todays cover prices...
anyway, the 80 page Giants, especially when they broke out into the basic DC series, were a great source of joy and golden age reprints in an era when back issue comics were not (quite yet) a going concern.
