Set Description:
Some Kirby! SOME JACK KIRBY! A love letter of sorts from Kirby about the Black Panther that took on a shape of its own for more than half this series run. Are you not entertained by the Krackle Sparckle of the one and only. Keeping it live in the 1st ongoing, brought over from Jungle Action! Perhaps this honorable jungle cat can bring justice away from home to the rest of the world! The character is becoming fleshed out, and who better to do it than, Jack? Full of ambition, and now, used towards films and beyond! A household name, even, for some comes the Black Panther.
Praised by and for, men and women alike, therefore it is a safe character to lay one's hat on without regret! Time is sensitive as this run is at least near 50 years old and counting!
Soft foots and light foots are still pouncing and prancing the night into oblivion by morning for any ne'er-do-wells that would seek to upset those princely orders that are on the path to peace. Black Panther is itself a moniker that speaks to leading those who have chosen a path and guard it, to lead it correctly, and towards an ultimate goal. It is a challenge that the mantle must protect. Life choices are set in motion by location of Wakanda, and not all inhabitants are able to defend though they are willing within themselves. The honor bestowed gives way to the humbling beliefs of the people, writer and artist, and overall picture that to take up arms with anything but peace is a hard decision that must be kept by the way, the truth, and the life. Wakanda has the Black Panther for a betterment of their society, the same as an Amazon would for those inclined to hear it as a force yet be gentle enough as to accept the moniker!

Way to go Jack Kirby! Bringing life to the Black Panther of Wakanda! 1st issue with a struggle for the hero, with Kirby's artistic and trippy 70's action. I got this because my Black Panther repertoire was low! These classics can stand the test of time in art, the story may need a little adapting in the progression of modern day. Rest assured the Black Panther is secure with stories to be told. Kirby flash, with Kirby sparkle, does the imagination good. Not much for any cartoons, this character can be seen in movies. Now almost a well honored tradition among those as well! We need good plots, and these Kirby pages deliver, we just need look to the past, and make a new future. Kirby was awesome, even if just a bit trippy with his art. Got to bring in new collectors and readers! Picked up a while ago about 2017 for $150 off of eBay, before tax was applied via that venue. I call this a Love Story from Jack, because he was left to script it all its own and is a claim to fame for me that renditions of the fleshed-out character Black Panther lives today.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Cyrano!" Another artist but poet, Cyrano, that took a proxy in his stead for love in the form of words and the art, in order to win a lady's heart. Kirby put love and passion into things, and only later got some credit that he richly deserved! He had pretty much won us over.

Kirby all over the place, for a good story to be drawn consecutively in an ongoing series, woo-hoo! It's a Kirby-fest, and at 9.2 it's a no brainer! Unless you have the brain of the six-million-year man, with the presence of mind to destroy the future, then a Black Panther is a must. These stories spur the imagination with an old-time heroics theme, and the morals keep you balanced. Today we have the same type of illustrative prowess from a different perspective, yet Kirby had it in the beginning. Time honored traditions don't go down easy, nor without a fight to the finish. Now a successor to be in films, we've got the Black Panther and Kirby to thank for putting Wakanda on the map. Incidentally, the location is where only a few may find it, not unlike the Wonder Woman! There have been episodes of shows like the Collectors Call, on television, that showed off Jack Kirby Original Art, while mentioning the prices achieved in that market! These are the testimonies that can only be attributed to those like King Kirby. A pressable candidate. Not all Jack Kirby material was as a poet or even as a writer, and yet the overall body of work was poetic.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Collete!" Another portrayal of a self-made artist and yet she was what you call a "ghost writer" and it shows how the fallout of success affected the one responsible for the work. A lot of similarity with Kirby, in that credit was taken but not in romantic form, basically success can be ugly or cause fallout. To say that Jack Kirby possibly was a similar ghost writer, is in the fact he didn't get as much acclaim for the same amount of work!
Grader Notes:
finger bends left center of front cover;
multiple spine stress lines;
small bend right center of front cover.

Kirby again, getting the juices flowing to start this series, featuring King Solomon's tomb who was the richest man on the planet! It's another Kirby blow out and we're all invited! A long line of slabs found at LCS Titan comics, turned up these Black Panther's that I had to purchase. I felt like a kid in a candy store seeing those Kirby covered with goodness. I had to pick and choose, and only buy sensibly what I could afford. Any Kirby lover might have bested me, yet I'm happy! These were seemingly undervalued at the time that I picked them up. A nice little run in the bronze age, with great colors and art for the time. A bit trippy again with "Chaos in Solomon's TOMB", Kirby delivers the panache and grit. Time to get those thumbs ready for some exciting page flipping. These Black Panther issues, they may not make them like they used too. Everything today, just may have a darker tone. Despite it all Kirby kept up with the times and has many a repertoire and unique style, that he inevitably brought to all his work.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass to the movie Jungle Cruise, before it was released into theaters. They went looking for treasure, and said, "Welcome to the Jungle! We got Fun and Games!" Complete with maps and clues! The same as Solomon's TOMB! Dwayne The Rock Johnson had a time of it!

Origin and 1st appearance of "Jakarra". Jack Kirby's Black Panther, in "Doom is the Song of the Drums". A battle cry can be heard, and Kirby lets loose. Can we get a medic! Some scrappy players afoot! Got to love the old stuff, it encompasses everything we are today. Play your cards right and the good stuff either repeats or ages even better. Time is a teacher. Kirby stands the test, as well the Black Panther on the cover. With source material to draw from, these now famous movies can draw from the "well" time and again. Give me some Kirby Crackle with the Black Panther? I'm sure with Kirby, anything is possible. Another great from Kirby's run here in the Bronze Age of Comics. In short anything Kirby can be taken subjectively but is severely undervalued in some areas. Black Panther can be considered one of them at the moment, 2022.
Complete with a back cover picture of the same comic but a reprint contained within a 12 inch "Marvel POP" of the Black Panther. Bought for me this 2023, given to me by my brother on a heat filled day. Glad to have the camaraderie to live on to draw inspiration for back cover pictures!

Black Panther Kirby in the "Way of the Warrior", Black Panther's family! Traditions? Keep them or knock them down for new ones in the way we love then and now, it's always about loyalty and honor, and also sacrifice. That is a Yellow Cover! A little bit of foreshadowing as well? The family gets tested in this character-building issue. Kirby liked to give thought to the plot and a bit of personality as well. He had great examples from times past, such as Stan Lee, but again, often had thoughts and ideas of his own. Too Good to Pass Up! Go Kirby, Go Kirby, GO! A Little Ninja Pep Talk. The Wakanda heart has held up to the writers' whims, and character building taken into account, no amount of enthusiasm can escape the reader when getting a Kirby adrenaline shot! No amount of pressing can fix foxing, although this isn't all about the condition when it comes to Kirby. Black Panther is precariously perched in any situation, stealth that lives is the Black Panther!
Complete with a "Gallery" statue in the back cover picture, picked up from Gamestop around 2017-18, by my brother as a gift to me for always driving him to midnight game releases. Proudly displayed in the middle of my comic room along with Michonne from the Walking Dead. The look posed well together, that and I don't have a lot out of "display cases" except for those.
Grader Notes:
bend left center of back cover;
light, multiple foxing right center of back cover;
spine stress lines.

Kirby makes it in last with Black Panther #12, "Through Walls of Stone They STALK! BEWARE THE AGENTS OF KIBER!" These dwellers are taking Black Panther to the outdoor! A Local Comic Shop Titan Comics find when I had to pick up some CGC boxes and lo and behold! Classics give their name some great first impressions upon availability, but the real ones are diamonds in the rough. Black Panther and T'challa need to keep the modern plot with the old-time hero symbolism, let's make this happen. Back at Wakanda, quite a different animal is stirring, to take to task the Black Panther. C'mon Spring training, even in 2022, let's get back out on the field, and show them what we are made of, exciting! "Put me in Coach!" Even the blocky type faces are now a signature style! It was said that Kirby was over worked, but he got stuff, quality stuff by the way, out the door and met deadlines. That is that ethic that can inspire and encourage. Pressable Candidate.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released of, "Bob Marley: One Love!" Had to give a shout out on a Kirby book that the man had struggles, but needed love most of all, and I pray that he had it in his years to be justified. He's a great! He meant a lot to a lot of comic readers. Kiber is also a slang expression for "I don't care or whatever." "Kiber" is a Filipino boy's name meaning helper, adaptable, or strength. Kokoi Baldo was the "Bob Marley of the Philippines." I still have mad respect for Kirby who was very adaptable, a helper, and I hope he had LOVE for strength!
Grader Notes;
light spine stress lines to cover.
