Origin of Swamp Thing! 1st appearance of Lt. Matt Cable, and both Alec and Linda Holland. Great new storytelling, Bernie Wrightson does not disappoint with the art, and you can feel the eerie Swamp! With the Swampers and how He Exists. Lucky enough to snag this on eBay, I should have paid up for it a long long time ago ha-ha! A well worth it addition to the collection, making it to the forefront with the Swamp Thing. Some like the 1st app Swampie better as a character, although this version was definitely beloved. As a first ongoing, the rest of the series is just as sweet in art and story. Many collectors have made it their mission to complete and read. A lot of interesting forms of story writing ending with a culmination of "love" and hey, Swampie even meets up with the Batman for a frolicking good time, eventually with DC.
Complete with a back cover picture of the DC Cover girl's hardcover, by Adam Hughes, picture of the covers and readable history that is the Swamp Thing. Swampy came through two origins with different thoughts and or ideas. Living in the "backwoods swamp" stimulates a certain viewpoint, but the Swamp Thing likes to think himself a self-made creature. Outsiders, they can decide for themselves!
Grader Notes:
light scuff left top of front cover breaks color;
very small crease right top of front cover breaks color;
very small, multiple crease right bottom of front cover breaks color.

1st Full Appearance of Dr. Anton Arcane. 1st cameo of Patchwork Man! Beautiful Bernie Wrightson cover and art, keep it together Swampy or ye walk the plank! Gives me the chills to think it's so high in the tower, swampy go squashy! A very nice presentable copy in grade, with that spectacular view. The Aurora ad on the back is a nice period time article too. Glad to have this in the case it is in, with white pages. Swamp Thing being who he is today with a CW TV show, I hope it gets some buzz going and keeps it relevant. Surely if they can make the written stories into film, it can go the distance. Summing it up with more questions, as the Swamp Thing is an enigma to the surrounding area, but the swamp is big and the stories seem to be tall tales to most, just the same. Swamp thing in the 70's was also represented in audio form.
Complete with a back cover picture to represent the audiophile that was news to this era, with records! The 70's were really about pushing boundaries after the liberty and innovation of the 60's. It is kind of hard to top going to the moon and driving around in a space car, which was in the reality back then, and not that long ago in retrospect. Pressing Candidate.
Grader Notes;
very light spine stress lines to cover.

1st full appearance of John Constantine. It's a gamble, yet Constantine won't take those, in this issue of appearing. We've got a hunter and a type of battle that isn't typically told. Given the spiritual, it could be a touchy subject, and on what side does John Constantine fall on? Keeping it realistic, got to count on a higher power. Constantine tries his hand at the "way" and seemingly doesn't do as bad as he thought he might. Green and Yellow really is a theme in my collection I'm noticing, as most of my major sets has a prized described issue of yellow and green found therein. That takes a load off for consistency, and that in itself calls to mind that these may have just been a common color scheme in the big picture back then, and yet, seems noticeable on its own as unique with a hint of eerie punch in the gut icky feeling! Consistency! Complete with a movie and speculation, this newcomer to comics will have to climb to the top if he wants to be known as "the man for the job!" Almost a classic cover with the sickly yellow and green, it is the Swamp Thing, here to tantalize and lay it all bare! Glad to have a 9.4. Seemed common sense.
Complete with a back cover sample picture from the Adam Hughes DC Cover Girls hardback, with a pic of a Swamp Thing Cover published book of "A Child Among Us!" Swamp Thing couldn't quit the business and needed to carry on in name and tradition. Who will be the next iteration to come of it? Life finds a way!
Grader Notes:
very light bends to cover;
very light spine stress lines to cover.
